Car Accidents in Ohio
Being involved in a car accident can be life-altering. In some cases, victims sustain injuries that require extensive medical treatment, surgery, and hospitalization. In Ohio, we are no stranger to these unfortunate events. In fact, more than 75,000 people are injured in crashes throughout our state each year. Although the majority of accidents result in minor injuries, thousands of victims are left with traumatic injuries that impact their health and wellbeing indefinitely. The unfortunate truth is that motor vehicle accidents are often preventable. Over 83% of accidents in the United States are caused by driver error. Drivers who enter roadways impaired, engage in distracting behaviors, disregard traffic control devices, and engage in other reckless actions are placing their lives and the lives of others at risk.
Although we would like it if everyone involved in a crash were able to recover, this is far from the truth. Each year, thousands of people are left with serious injuries that leave them permanently impaired. When victims suffer from brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and amputations, they are often unable to return to their normal way of life. Instead, many victims have to go through long-term treatment that leaves them overwhelmed in mental and physical pain as well as stacking financial burdens.
