A single mother to three young children in Ohio is struggling to regain some sense of normalcy in her life following a devastating accident with a truck on Nov. 1, 2018. The woman was traveling on U.S. 50 when a dump truck suddenly crossed into her lane, giving her nowhere to turn and no time to avoid a head-on collision.
As a result of the accident, she suffered a traumatic brain injury that has caused multiple seizures and affected her ability to speak. She’s also unable to focus and suffers from sleeplessness, nightmares and panic attacks. In addition, she’s still struggling with other physical injuries, including widespread pain, a limp and the inability to turn her head.
The truck driver apparently drove left of center in his haste to get around a mail truck. U.S. 50 is a narrow, two-lane highway, and the driver of the truck crossed a double yellow line when he made the decision to skirt the mail truck. The truck driver was cited.
This accident isn’t the first caused by drivers operating vehicles for Red Bank Transport in Milford, Ohio. The company lost a multimillion-dollar lawsuit back in 2016 for something similar. Despite these facts, the woman says that she’s been forced to seek legal help because she’s struggling to care for her children and the insurance company responsible for the claim is refusing to negotiate.
